3 Ways You Can Save the Planet & Save Money

1. Consume Less: In today’s society we have all kinds of “convenient” products that aren’t necessary, and after their temporary use they end up in the ocean killing sea life, on the side of the road for wild life to consume, or in one of the 3,000+ landfills that are continuously growing. Some products we seem to depend on, but aren’t completely necessary (and do more harm than good) are shampoo, conditioner, laundry detergent, toothpaste, toilet paper, paper towels, processed packaged/canned foods, Ziploc bags, bottled water, YOU NAME IT. Everything has it’s alternative and/or can be completely disregarded. Discontinuing the use of these products can save you TONS OF MONEY and enhance your health all while having a positive affect on the environment.

2. Reuse: Instead of throwing those glass jars of Alfredo sauce in the trash, clean them out and use them for storage, leftovers, or even as cups. Do you have old clothes or blankets? Cut them up and use them as rags. You can use these for cleaning, as napkins and as a replacement for toilet paper.

3. Buy Biodegradable: Biodegradable products can range from shoes to tooth brushes. After your use of these products you can throw them in your compost or waste bin, and know they aren’t going to be contributing to the mass growth of imperishable items. Also, eating more produce instead of processed packaged/canned foods ensures you aren’t putting garbage into your body OR the environment.
